Why are some state party names different?

Most state parties changed their names to “Constitution Party,” after a coalition of states that formed the U.S. Taxpayer Party became the Constitution Party in 1999.A handful of states were unable to change their state-registered names because of individual state restrictions: The U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan, and the Independent American Party of Nevada.
