CPPA Newsletter Volume 1, Issue 4 - April 2013

"Chairman's Corner"
State Chairman: Robert Nulton

                                                                        State Meeting - "A Success!"

On March 23, 2013 the Constitution Party of Pennsylvania met at the Park Inn in Mechanicsburg, PA. What a great meeting! We had many new faces which we are excited to get to know. We are also grateful to have met many of our state leaders who serve in various positions throughout Pennsylvania.

We were blessed to have had some of the best speakers around. We first had the privilege to hear from David Baldinger. He spoke on HB/SB 76 which is an issue near and dear to every home owner, property taxes and how we can do without them in our State. It is a bill that if you are not familiar with I would definitely encourage you to go ahead and search for it and learn about what you can do to help this bill bring about much needed relief to our citizens now before it is too late.

We also heard from Senator Mike Folmer, a true friend of the Constitution Party. He is working on bringing a bill to the floor that will allow for ballot access in Pennsylvania. This is a huge initiative for anyone to take on especially a current legislator. I am sure there is to be many who might be against this which is why it is so important that you can contact your local Senator and meet with him or her personally so that they can understand why it is so important for third parties to be able to have ballot access. The people deserve all of the choices possible!

The last speaker of the meeting was Carris Kocher, a true Constitutional Scholar. She has a wealth of Knowledge and brought a great message that was much needed in order for us to restore true liberty and justice to our great nation and state. We were glad to have her and her son join us and add to the success of the meeting.

Many initiatives were discussed at the meeting which will be further discussed in this issue of the newsletter. We do hope that if you could not make it out to this State Meeting that you will be able to make it out to the next state meeting which will be held on October 26, 2013 from 10am to 4pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

On March 23, 2013, The Constitution Party of Pennsylvania Elected New Leadership. New Regional Leaders are as Follows:

Southwest Region Chairman: Wes Thompson

Southeast Region Chairman: Fritz Schrom

Northcentral Region Chairman: Brian Tevlin (Still Serving)

Also with the recent knowledge that we are losing our State Secretary Donna Fike and State Website Manager Jody Fike, we had two unexpected openings to also take care of, the following can be seen below:

State Secretary: Alan R. Goodrich Jr.

State Website Manager: Troy Bowman (Serving in the Interim)

The following is a list of Leadership Positions that were unable to be filled at the State Meeting. These can be seen below:

Northwest Region Chairman: Open

Northeast Region Chairman: Open

Southcentral Region Chairman: Open

I am working to see to it that these positions are filled as soon as possible so that our party can actively move forward and be able to make the necessary pushes for our party as possible. If you or anyone that you know are interested in becoming a Regional Leader or even a County Leader please contact the State Chairman at
[email protected].

At the State Meeting one major initiative that was mentioned that is very important is that of a "Fundraising Initiative". Why is this so important? Well, how else are we to grow unless we have the necessary funds to do so. We have annual dues for due paying party members, there are also registration fees for events but, all of this is not even close to enough of what we need to grow as a party. That is why what I am going to explain next is so important.

The first initiative I spoke on is that of a creation of a "CPPA Candidates Fund" which will be used strictly for the use of helping our candidates get on the ballot so that we can get more Constitutional Candidates into office.

What I have asked all of the members of the State Party to do is simply donate $1 per month or $12 per year. $6 of your money will go toward the State Party to help contribute to its growth and the other $6 of your money will go straight into the "CPPA Candidates Fund" to help with ballot access. I do know that many of us are going through hard times. I do not wish to ask too much of any of you but, we must start now to help the party to grow and become so much more than what it was and what it is today.

I know that we can do this. We just need to work together and be willing to give more and more as we are able to do so. I thank each of you for your current sacrifices and hope that you can continue to help this party grow and become the next Major Party in order to ensure ballot access for all!

The other initiative mentioned at the State Meeting was that of Membership. I feel that many of our members are either too scared or feel inadequate to serve or feel that they would not give enough of their time to a leadership position so they choose better not to serve.

At the meeting I made it clear to all in attendance that a member or leader can give only an hour a month. I would rather have that one hour than to have you give nothing at all. If you can give a full 24 hours in a month, I would rather have that than nothing at all.

Any time that a member or leader of this party can give is so much better than having nobody there to give anything at all. My Philosophy is that it is much better and much more appreciated to give something, anything than to give nothing at all. This is all I ask of any member.

Now, to have leaders who can contribute to helping us find people is very crucial to our forward movement and overall success as a State and National Party. We need more and more people to contribute. We cannot be content with what we have now. We can be pleased with how far we have come but, to become content at any point in time means that we have come to the point where we are happy with what we have and are no longer engaged in seeing anything further happen.

This cannot happen. We must always work toward more because we can have more. We just simply have to work for it. It is hard work, I agree, but, work that each of us really must give if we are to progress as a party and show those who may not believe that we can really move forward and gain major party status or ballot access.

So, please consider contributing some time to the party in the way of helping to find people who would be interested in joining our party or learning more about who we are and what we stand for. You can contact the State Chairman regarding either of the above mentioned initiatives at [email protected].
